On May 11 my husband and I quit smoking. Hardest thing we have done in a while. David is using chantix and I quit cold turkey. I figured it would be hard but if I am being truthful it is not nearly as bad as I could have ever expected. I am cranky and he surely is a bit cranky, But the worst part is we have both gained over 10lbs and it has not even been a month.
We decided two days ago we were going to make an effort together to lose a few pounds for me and get in better shape for him. The plan was we would start making healthier choices when shopping and bringing foods into the home (this was his plan actually). I do not think my husband knows what a healthy food is. He has always been thin and never had to think about weight. I say wheat bread he says that is not food, I say healthy cereal he is eating the kids cookie cereal, I say fruit smoothy he asks what that is good for. Well I can see where this is going so I changed the game a little and decided I will buy groceries around what I think is healthy and he can eat when and how he wants we will just have to excersize together a bit. He is happy with that. I will not tell him what to eat but he will have to eat what we have in the house which will not be the chips and chilli dogs and pot pies and the biggest one NO fruit bites. Not sure if he will survive that one.
We are also getting rid of soda, this might kill him for sure. I have already been cafine free for 3 days he is not. He is going to try diet tea. We will see. He is going to finish up this case of Monster and then cut back.
We started the healthier eating June 1 it has been two days and we have both lost 2 pounds. David does not need to lose weight all he needs to do is be more active.
Today the kids and I did a short pilates Cayden and Savana make me laugh to hard to do it very well but we made it through it. I ordered a different work out video thing that David and I will try together and if My big brother ever gets me the movies he and his wife are doing I would be very happy. LOL Hint Hint
I will keep you posted. We are weighing in daily to keep track of what works and what does not.
My personal goal is to lose 35 lbs by Aug 29, My oldest brothers wedding which I am a brides maid in. That is just the first goal I know I need to lose more then that but I need to keep my goals practical.
